The latest news now is that we are on the home stretch. The 100 "Wee Ones" finished some time ago and now on that last push to sell the remaining 20 or so.

There was a major boost to the project this month in the inclusion in the leading Magazine for those who love all things coastal. Coast Magazine.

Lots of interest and enquiries arrived in my mailbox after this months edition came out.  It was a welcome and a real boost when things had started to slow a bit.  I always knew that keeping up the momentum of interest was going to be a big challenge.

The very nature of the project has meant that a number of customers have contacted me only to find that their favourite location has gone. This was always going to be problem and have decided to make a couple of detours from the 100 so if you are keen to purchase a Wee One and you see something you love gone. CONTACT ME! I have been prepared to paint a couple extra pieces on the same terms as the original Wee Ones.  Lets call them the Wee Extras!!!!  If we can continue to raise money for MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT then why say no.

So contact me if you still interested in purchasing and I will see if I can accommodate the request.

This is a short but sweet entry , as much to show the project is still alive and kicking and I haven't slipped under the waves.

The painting complete .. The One Hundred complete.

One hundred paintings - One purpose!

To raise £1500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Great news now is that the 100 "Wee Ones" are now finished  The last push in getting the final pieces completed took up most of last Friday. 

I was keen to get the work finished as I know from a number of potential customers that they were holding back until all the choices were published to view.

The artistic experience has been an interesting one for me as it has given me an opportunity to experiment with different styles from the quite abstract to the representational. Each painting developed its own personality as I painted it.  .

Just as a reminder this project is dedicated to the loss of a friend Henry James MacPherson Rooney aka Mac who fought cancer for many years. Resilient, loyal and a life long supporter of many charitable causes.

As an artist I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate a life through a painted journey around the coast of Britain. Here is a small portrait image of the man I painted back in 2012.

I believe that Macmillan Cancer Support do an amazing job and I am privileged to be able to make a small contribution to their work.

The journey is as much a journey of the imagination and spirit, as one of geography.  The 100 pieces depict the coast of Britain in its many guises, wild and stormy, the misty mornings, the still moonlit seas.  I wanted to capture many of the hidden faces of the coast rather than the picture postcard image of this diverse isle.

Earlier in the project I took a picture of 42 of the earlier works, Here it is, I think quite something.

Each work is available at the cost of £50 with a donation of £15 per piece going to Macmillan.

So how can you buy one of the Wee Ones? Remember there will only be a relatively small number painted. (Limited to only 100 original works) Each one is painted in oil on a small 6 x 6 inch canvas board.  The wee one will be supplied unframed. I can of course arrange framing and delivery if necessary at cost price.

The Journey begins....

The Journey begins.. This is visual journey around the varied and beautiful coast of the UK from the rugged and cliffted coasts of Cornwall to the Big skies of the Scottish Western Isles.
In memory and tribute to the loss of a dear friend I have decided on this painted journey of 100 paintings depicting coastal and seascape scenes from around the country.

Known as the "Wee Ones" each piece is 6 x 6 inches ( 15.4 x 15.4 cm )

Each work is oil on a simple canvas board. For each work I will make a 30% donation to Macmillan Cancer. Each work as it becomes available will be available for purchase for the cost of £50. Delivery and framing can be arranged at cost price.
